Rosemary Iverson was a passionate golf professional who always made sure that her students received the best she could give. She will be missed.
Iverson, Rosemary "Rosie" 60, of Bloom-ington, MN passed away on Jan. 28, 2015 at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eileen and Lloyd; survived by brother, Jim (Jeri)-Janesville, WI; niece, Jodi (Tim) Curtis-Beloit, WI; nephew, Jeff (Jennifer)-Lake Mills, WI; other family members, many friends, and her two "girls", Kelly and Emmi. Rosie started playing golf when she was 8 yrs. old in Brodhead, WI. During high school, Golf Magazine featured Rosie as "a young golfer to watch". She was inducted to Brodhead High School's "Wall of Fame". Rosie was the first woman to play on the men's golf team at the UofW-Eau Claire, WI in addition to playing on the women's golf team. She was inducted to the UofW's Hall of Fame for Basketball and Golf. Rosie taught high school in Wisconsin for 2 years before becoming the women's golf teaching professional at Hillcrest, Interlachen, and Minikahda Country Club in the Twin Cities and Director of Instruction at Rush Creek. She owned Precision Golf Studio in Minnetonka, MN. Rosie worked as an instructor at the Craft-Zavichas Golf School during the winter months for over 25 years. She was the first woman to become a "Class A" PGA member in the Midwest and received PGA's "Horton Smith" Award. Named one of the top 50 golf instructors in the country by "Golf for Women" magazine, Rosie was also named LPGA's "Midwest Teacher of the Year" for 2 years. Rosie loved teaching golf and her students. She appreciated the unique qualities each student brought to the game. She was also a loyal Twins and Vikings fan. Celebration of Rosie's life will be held on Feb. 12, 2015 in Cumberland, WI at Skinner Funeral Home: visitation at 10 AM, service at 11 AM, gravesite at noon.
